SHMRRC Minutes for the Monthly Meeting

 The meeting was held at Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, President Jeff Graybill presiding.

Presidents Report
The annual business meeting is postponed until March due to limited attendance because of an email glitch that sent the meeting notice to members’ spam or trash folders. 

The Kamin Science Center informed us that there were over six thousand people who attended Locomotion Weekend.  We noticed that on both Saturday and Sunday people arrived at the display floor immediately after the 10:00 opening time.  This suggests that a lot of the people attended specifically for Locomotion Weekend.  The room was crowded for most hours with only a few slow periods.  Our layout was well attended and got many favorable comments. 

The next show will be at the Carnegie Free Library and Music Center in Carnegie.  The setup date is Thursday, April 9th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Display dates and times are Friday, April 10th and  Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Teardown will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday. 

During the Carnegie Library show the Carnegie Model Railroaders (CMR) will have a meeting on Saturday at 1:30 pm.  CMR has invited SHMRRC to attend and asked that we prepare a presentation.  We will discuss the history of how the SHMRRC began, how it progressed and what we are all about today.  We will answer any questions afterwards. 


 
Treasurers Report:
The current balance in the treasury is $6,005.11 with $5,394.11 in checking and $610.00 cash on hand.

 Program:

Jeff Graybill attended the TCA Show at the Shriner’s Hall in Harmarville.  He was able to acquire some Digitrax components that can be used to bring our modules in compliance with the FreeMo standards.  The items include 3 connecting panels, auto-reversing units, and a power supply.

 The March meeting is moved from the 31st to the 24th due to the occurrence of Easter Week.  With any luck the meeting announcement email will arrive in members’ inboxes.

The next SHMRRC meeting will be at the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church at 7:00 pm on March 24, 2026
