Presidents Report:
Both the SHMRRC and NMRA Div 2 are still awaiting approval and are listed as “pending” for display at the August 3rd and 4th Greenberg Train Show in Monroeville.  As soon as Jeff gets word that we are approved he will send out an email requesting all members with modules to respond as to whether they will attend.  A timely response will help to plan for the module layout.

Future shows are too far away to discuss at this time.

Treasurers Report:
Current funds in the treasury are $5,152.25 in checking and $650.00 cash on hand for a total of $5,802.25.

Program:
Jeff led a discussion of the two types of 3D printers.  Starting with the LCD, DLP, and SLA liquid resin types, the process of making a model and getting a final 3D print was presented.  The advantages of the liquid resin printers were the accuracy and resolution of the printed pieces with a little more involved in the steps required after printing. Jeff passed around several printed objects.

Next the FDM Color Filament printers were discussed with the advantage of a simpler process using the filament but the resolution tends to be lower.  Some filament printers are capable of printing in up to 4 colors where the resin printers use one color.

The setup for both types involve making a computer model of the item and processing it with a slicing program. Several websites were mentioned that can supply computer models either free or for a fee.

For show and tell, Dave Bodnar passed around a de-soldering tool used to remove solder from a joint that needed to be taken apart.

John Kolonay showed the club a circuit board he uses to accurately wire a circuit with an Arduino and multiple connections.

No suggestions were made for a program in July so if any member has a topic of interest please email the club with your idea in time for a program to be developed.

 Next Meeting:
